CONTACTS, NETWORKING
AND THE GALDRAHEIM 'CIRCLE OF WICCA'

We are in process of creating a listing of good Covens and contacts that new seekers can be referred to.

This is slow work as many Covens are extremely cautious about being publicly known, and do not want their contact details to be made public.

If you are a member of a Coven that is open to new seekers, or you have good contacts in this way to refer people on to, do get in touch and let me know so that we can refer people on to Covens in their area. Though Galdraheim is of the Alexandrian tradition, we recognise and respect the validity of all other ways so will be more than happy to include all traditions and ways in our contacts listing. Including Gardnerian, StarKindler, Eclectic, Dianic, Seax-Wicca, Traditionalist, Georgian, Minoan, Kingstone and all other ways and Wiccan traditions.

If you do not want your contact details to be publicly listed, do get in touch and I'll keep your details private and only give them to selected individuals.

Galdraheim Coven is strongly connected with its 'up-line' of those we were initiated by, and those who initiated them, and so we will also possibly be able to refer you to good Covens through that.

If you are seeking a Coven in your area to train with and possibly join, get in touch and we'll help all we can.

A good source of contact is "The Witches Voice" web site. Details are in the Links section of this web site. "The Witches Voice" has a listing of Groups and Covens around the world, which is broken down into sub sections to be easily worked through. Including a section for the UK. It's well worth having a look through that listing to see if there are any Covens in your area.

WHY WE FEEL THIS IS IMPORTANT

There are two interwoven issues in this:-

Especially now with the explosive growth of the Internet, the vast number of inferior websites that exist drowns out the good information.

The solutions to this are simple: "They who control the media, control the message". And also, if good people work together to create a network to support those seeking our help and guidance, we can ensure that they are not led astray or exploited- if they don't find good people, they will inevitably find bad people.

In practical terms this requires two things:- that we do work together to do our utmost to provide what new seekers need in the way of contact, support and guidance, and that we individually and collectively use our skills to dominate the Internet as much as we can- on the principle of simply "controlling the medium, so as to determine the message", so that we effectively drown out the misinformation and rubbish that currently dominates the 'Net.

If you are able to help with this, do get in touch and help weave the kind of community that Wicca now needs.

If you are able to do so you will also be welcome to visit us by appointment, perhaps join in some of our teaching  and development Circles, and discuss and learn with Galdraheim Coven. You are also welcome to just come for a chat if that's all you need. 'This is a 'helping hand'. Freely offered  to our Sisters and Brothers.

Some contacts in Britain:-

Hawk Moon Coven - We are a friendly group, eclectic, who have places available for male seekers. It's not that we don't want or like females, it's just that we number 7 already and would like to balance things out a bit! Our Covenstead is in Torquay Devon where we offer training through the 3 degrees of Wicca. Our membership requirements are a sincere interest in  becoming a member of the Hawk Moon Coven and a strong desire to grow and learn. Email - lynk55@hotmail.com

IF we can be of any help to anyone seeking Wicca info, please contact us. We hold a pagan moot on the first Sunday of each month at The Calley Arms, Hodson, which is just outside Swindon, from 8pm onwards. We also arrange camping trips, etc. to Dorset and Boscastle. Email;- Domwitch@aol.com

Beith-Gheal is circles within circles, including an FOI lyceum, but, A Clann nan Beith-Gheal is our traditional style witchcraft circle, and has openings for people seeking to work in a similar way. We don't have a website that is specifically for the group. We are in our 13th year of encouraging relationships with the Land the Wildfolk and the Gods. Get in touch and have a chat with Silver: Email:- silver@thistle84.fsnet.co.uk

'Aura of the Moon'. We are a small and friendly group, eclectic, non hierarchial, non conventional, fun and open to new members. We offer training through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees and also a discussion group for those not wishing to join a coven just yet. Our teaching takes in all the basics, the elements, ritual, astrology, tarot, divination, history and ethics of the craft, meditation etc and we go on regular trips to sacred sites, including spending the Midsummer ritual at Stonehenge (hopefully).

Our e-mail is auraofthemoon@hotmail.com
Our contact number is 01543255310 (speak to Holly) and the meeting place is in Lichfield, Staffs, England at 2pm (unless otherwise stated) every other Saturday.

Hidden Gate Coven:-  Our main Covenstead at the moment is in a secret location in Penzance. But we will work out of doors, sometimes at an ancient sacred site but members will be expected to be careful not to do any harm to these sites (having fires only in a fire-dish and candles in lanterns away from the stones etc).

The tradition that we focus on could be described as Traditional country Witchcraft. There is an emphasis on herb Craft, nature/elemental working etc. Members are expected to make as many of their working tools as they can. The tools required for coven meetings are a working robe, an Athame, a wand and a Book of Shadows. We have a 'Coven Kitty' into which members put any spare money which is then used to buy candles, herbs, oils, incenses etc for the group. Although Harvesting herbs with boline from the wild or from one's own herb garden and making your own candles and incenses is seen as a better idea when possible. We meet for the Sabbats and Esbats and for any group magick when the need comes up.

We do not belong to any large Pagan organisations but as individuals we are members of the Witchcraft Museum in Boscastle and have donated hand made tools which are on display. We would like new members to also support the museum as we view it as a valuable resource for Witches and Pagans and those who are just interested in finding out what it's all about. Members are able to choose between Coven or Self Initiation.

The Coven of The Silver Chalice was founded in October 1998 with the High Priestess and High Priest as it's only members at that time. We are located in El Cajon, California.

What are our goals? We hope to eventually become a legalized church so that we can help the Pagan Community At Large here in the San Diego Area and be able to help the Pagan Community At Large in the United States. We hope to be able to help the San Diego Area with networking and building a Pagan Community here where people of like faiths can come and worship the Lord and Lady and learn from others of the like faiths. We want to give the San Diego Area People a place to come and have fellowship! We hope to be able to provide an OutReach Program to those Wiccans and other Pagan Faiths who are shut in their homes or who are disabled in the future. We hope to be able to help sponsor the Witches Night Out here in the San Diego Area at some point in the future.

We will educate those whom want to be educated. We will hold classes and seminars to the Public and to the local Police Departments so that they are aware that just because they may see us practicing our Rites, that we are not out to hurt anyone. We are temporarily closed for membership until March 2001

Our requirements for membership are: Everyone who is interested in becoming a member of our coven must take our Wicca 101 course and pass it by no less than 85%, study and work with our coven for no less than 6 months and a day before becoming eligible for membership and must be voted in by the other members of our coven.
