INTRODUCTION

Though obviously inspired by native arts and sacred craft work from a variety of cultures; notably Celtic, earlier Northern European work, American Indian, Aboriginal, Maori, and other sources; I seek through my work to develop and create an energy flow which is unique, primal and potent.

All of my work is unique and hand crafted, and so as to make each a powerful energy focus, I create every artifact as far as possible from hand gathered ‘wild’ materials. Beads, ribbons and similar materials are also used in some pieces of my work, but so as to ensure a resonance with the whole spirit of my work, I use natural materials as far as possible of these kinds also- glass beads, cotton, wool, beeswax and propolis from my own bees for finishing, and similar. 

One of the most powerful features of all native sacred arts and crafts is that though beauty is important, it is also always a channel and focus for spiritual power. Each piece of work I create is therefore an interface between the realms of here-now and the Dreamtime- the Otherworlds, the primal and timeless source realm of power which underlies and empowers our world, and which I seek to focus and connect with through my work, so that this power can be channelled into your life for Healing, Growth and Transformation.

I honour and respect the inspiration that our ancestors and native peoples world wide have given me, and am honoured in turn to continue the flowing process of creating sacred crafts and artifacts to help you connect with Dreamtime, and to do so in ways which grow from the root wisdom of our ancestral knowledge tree.

Spirituality always springs in each instance from the land in which it is found. My ancestors bones rest in this land of Britain, this is where I work and have my being, and so I largely work with materials which can be gathered from this land. However, this is the age of the ‘Rainbow awareness’- when peoples of all tribes and nations are coming together to share their knowledge and wisdom, and so in the multi-coloured ‘Rainbow light’ of this awareness, I am honoured at times to use materials which are gifts from other lands, and which can be used in resonance with gathered materials to create Shamanic crafts of great beauty and power.

Shamans, Druids and Witches are often entitled “Caretakers of the Earth”, and I feel very strongly that we have a great responsibility to uphold this ideal. If I ever use materials that I have not personally gathered, I always ensure that I check out their sources, and ensure that these are honest and reliable. There is a trade in materials such as Raptor feathers from dubious sources, and for example quartz crystals are sometimes mined by non-respectful and earth hurting methods. I avoid these sources, and obtain supplies from people I can trust.

Much “Indian Craft work” that is imported into Britain for the ‘New Age’ market does not conform to these standards; indeed much of it isn’t even made by Native Americans at all, but in Mexican sweat shops; and so I also avoid materials from these sources and do not sell “Indian made” artifacts.

All the illustrations in this website represent potentials. If you are not yet clear as to exactly what your needs are, and they can be satisfied by what is shown in the following pages, then you will find that my work does suit your needs straight from the catalogue. However, if your needs are more demanding, and perhaps you have a clear idea of exactly what you need, then I will be happy to create exactly what you seek- If you can imagine something, I can make it for you. If for example you have seen something on a Shamanic Journey, in a meditation, dream or vision; or even perhaps in a book, catalogue or magazine; just send me sketches, photocopies or illustrations, and I will make whatever it is for you.

I have been making Shamanic, magickal and esoteric craft work for nearly thirty years. My skills include:- Carving in a variety of native styles, including my own individual style, ribbon work, beadwork- ‘Lazy’ stitch, Peyote/gourd stitch, ‘squaw’ stitch, lace stitch and appliqué: I work with bone, stone, wood, shells, feathers, leather, skins and rawhide: Through my life I have gained a variety of related craft skills also- knot-work, macramé, carpentry and wood bending, to name just a few of the useful skills and resources that time and practise have granted me.

All of the art work in this website; and in all of my pamphlets and catalogues; is from my original work. Some of which has been scanned for ease of compilation, and some is hand drawn originals.

Contemporary spirituality is spirituality for now- rooted into the ancient, ageless wisdom, but valid and applicable in this modern age in which we live. Within this, and in accordance with what I mentioned previously about the ‘Rainbow Awareness’ of living in a complex world within which we have many wisdom forms and sources from which to draw for inspiration, individuals find their own individual paths and ways of seeking and manifesting the ageless wisdom. Some are drawn to Keltic and other Northern European Shamanic forms, many to American Indian wisdom such as Medicine Wheel Teachings, many to Witchcraft. I have made items of all kinds through my life, and will be happy to make something for you which, if that is what you need right now, is in resonance with any particular wisdom stream. For example, if your path right now is mostly American Indian inspired, then I will make whatever it is that you need with that in mind, and will ensure that your ‘Tool for Power Healing and Transformation’ is exactly how you want it- even to the extent of basing it on something from a specific tribe if that is what you need right now. I have made Rattles, Fans, Drums, and all manner of items for the majority of contemporary Shamanic Teachers and practitioners- if you have been to a workshop in Britain, you will probably have seen my work already! That includes a number of Teachers and writers, whose ‘workbooks’ you are probably already familiar with.

‘Last words concern the Serpent which appears in much of my work. Based upon a visionary experience many years ago, in which a Snake gave me the power to carve these kinds of crafts, I was given the ‘Medicine Name’ of ‘Snake-Maker’. The Serpent expresses the power of healing, growth, regeneration and renewal. It has been reviled and despised in the west, but it perennially re-emerges, as a symbol of wise-knowing and deep wisdom. The Snake is the Serpent of wisdom in all primal, Shamanic cultures, and was revered by our ancestors. It appears often in my work because of this, and so as to help the Wisdom stream of humanity flow clearly again.
