MY BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

So that you can clearly see that I have the knowledge, skills and experience to create the craft work that you need to help you along your path, I'd like to share with you something of my spiritual and magickal path so far.

I was always a 'strange child'- one of those kids who never truly mixes in or fits in fully with other kids. I wasn't an outcast or rejected by my peers, but I always felt slightly aloof from them- not superior, but different in intangible and hard to describe ways. We played Cowboys and Indians- I always wanted to be the Indian. They imagined games of car chases and cops and robbers, I imagined Faeries, lands beneath the sea, and people who had strange gifts and powers....

By the age of seven I'd discovered mythology: By twelve I'd acquired a copy of a medieval magickal grimoire... and was experimenting. By seventeen I'd made and acquired  my first set of magickal tools- An Athame, Platter, Cup, Wand and various other ritual items.

At nineteen I was attending Spiritualist churches, Native American study groups, and was training for Initiation as a Witch. At twenty three I was High Priest in an Eclectic Coven. I'm now forty five years old and have been HP for twenty two years. I was initiated to the 3rd degree in the Alexandrian tradition sixteen years ago.

I am also a member of the British Druid Order, and have until this year run "The Raven Lodge of Shamanic and personal development" for a little over thirteen years.

Craftwork: My first set of magickal tools that I made nearly thirty years ago were very simple and based on designs and ideas in the medieval books of magick such as 'The Keys of Solomon' and the work of the Golden Dawn magickal order.  In among that though I was also a member of a Native American-Hobbyist group named "The Four Winds" where I learned to do bead work of various styles, simple carved work, leather work, and to make Rattles, Drums, Fans, Smudge feathers and similar work. That began nearly thirty years ago also- a broad and deeply empowering education of learning craft work skills and techniques in a direct and hands-on way from people who had lifetimes of skills and experience that I drew from first hand.

I trained and learned with people involved with Wicca, Paganism and Druidry, and learned wood carving, the lore of woods and trees, and other similar knowledge from some very highly skilled people.

From what I learned of making craftwork in those circles I made many items for myself, as gifts for friends, and eventually in response to a growing demand I began making a wider range of work, created a catalogue, and started selling craft work.

Think of a country..... England, USA, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, France, Belgium, Germany, Denmark.... My work has gone to all of those countries, and many more.

And literally thousands more- over the past ten years I have made literally over two thousand Rattles.

I can guarantee that if you go to a shamanism workshop in the UK you will see at least one or more items made by me- Rattles, Wands, carved fetish items, Bone whistles, Drums, beaded pouches, and all the other items I make.

I never stop learning: I make craft work virtually every day of the week: My skills, experience and knowledge are something I constantly seek to stretch, develop and grow.
